Forrest Gump – My Movie Review

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

Forrest Gump is a fun movie. My wife and I were in Savannah, Georgia two summers ago and had our picture taken at the spotforrest-gump3 where Forrest Gump sat on the bench talking to the lady waiting for the bus. The bench itself had been moved.(Actually a number of well known movies have been shot in Savannah or nearby. There is a special tour of locations where movie scenes were shot that we took and this is how we found the bench spot).

The movie Forrest Gump, directed by Robert Zemeckis came out in 1994. Tom Hanks who played the role of Gump won his second best actor Academy Award. It is one of those movies that you can watch over and over and it’s a little hard to explain why. Yes, it is fanciful and some would consider ridiculous at points. Some reviews would point out flaws in the story line or the how convincing certain story plots are. But I think that misses the point of this movie.

To me there is a message. A fun movie with a message. The message is about what is most important in life. At one point in the movie Forrest says to the love of his life, Jenny, I’m not a smart man, but I do know what love is.Gump wasn’t a smart a man by the world’s standards. He had an IQ of 75. Some would call him stupid and his famous retort was “Stupid is as stupid does.” While the world might call the Gump character stupid, he did know what love was.

He endangered his own life by saving Lieutenant Dan. When he learned that his mother lay on her death bed, he ran home. Literally, he ran home to be by her side. And he always loves Jenny no matter what and in the end finds a life with her.Despite all his great achievements as the world defines them…becoming a football star, a war hero, a ping pong champ, a wealthy entrepreneur, and meeting John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, & Richard Nixon – in the end all that really mattered were his friends and loved ones.

I believe that is what has made this movie something of a classic that people will enjoy watching for a long time to come. It isn’t what Forrest Gump accomplished; it’s not the funny things that happen in the movie. It is that it reminds of what is most important in life – people.

My Personal Point of View For the Dressing Table

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

What is the definition for dressing table? In fact, there are seldom known information about what this table actually is, what it actually does and how it actually looks like. It is just assumed that the persons know what this table is, so is there any need to understand what really it is. Many of the people might say there is no meaning in doing this, however I think it is crucial to understand this table to appreciate its value more properly.

The dressing table is the table which is primarily used to get ready for getting dressed. Its main function is to offer you a space where you may sit down and take your time to decorate the appearance of your upper part body. Before this furniture, you may fix your make-up, hair; put some accessories or other things which you believe might help you to get the perfect look that everybody aims for. It is the place where you could relax and meanwhile appreciate what you look like or who you are and improve it better for all the world to see. In my opinion, It is a frame with which you may show off the beauty of your outside appearance and the stage in which you could make it even better.

As a matter of fact, There are no strict guidelines for how actually this table looks like. If you go shopping around, there are various kinds to select from and still there are more to be discovered. Actually some of the people make their own sort of dressing table and it may be quite different from the traditional designs, however the basic components of one good dressing table is it should has functions, and those functions are to make it easier to dress up to obtain the aesthetic effect which you desire.

A special world

A special world for you and me
A special bond one cannot see
It wraps us up in its cocoon
And holds us fiercely in its womb.

Its fingers spread like fine spun gold
Gently nestling us to the fold
Like silken thread it holds us fast
Bonds like this are meant to last.

And though at times a thread may break
A new one forms in its wake
To bind us closer and keep us strong
In a special world, where we belong.

My Eternal Love

As water is to a flower,
And honey is to a bee,
You are always there,
You are a part of me.
As the wind blows,

Through the distant land,
My love for you grows,
Never wanting to end.
As the stars are to the night,
And the grass is to the ground,

You must definitely know,
My love is all around.
And when there is no wind,
No land, night or sun,

I’ll love you forever and always,
Even when my life here is done.
And when my days are over,

My life here on earth is through,
I hope you’ll forever know,
I’ll still be in love with you.

Thought 1

When we are born, our mothers get the compliments and the flowers.
When we are married, our brides get the presents and the publicity.
When we die, our widows get the life insurance.
What do women want to be liberated from?

Thought 2

The average man’s life consists of:
Twenty years of having his mother ask him where he is going,
Forty years of having his wife ask the same question;
and at the end, the mourners wondering too where he is going.

Thought 3

Everyone in the wedding ceremony was watching the radiant bride as her father escorted her down the aisle to give away to the groom. They reached the altar and the waiting groom; the bride kissed her father and placed something in his hand. Everyone in the room was wondering what was given to the father by the bride.

The father could feel the suspense in the air and all eyes were on him to divulge the secret and say something. So he announced :

‘Ladies and Gentlemen. Today is the luckiest day of my life …’ Then he raised his hands with what his daughter gave him and continued, ‘My daughter finally, finally returned my Credit Card to me.’

The whole audience including the priest started laughing . . . . . But not the poor Groom ! ! !

And now the Best one. . .. . .

Thought 4

A Man was walking down a street when he heard a voice from behind, ‘If you take one more step, a brick will fall down on your head and kill you.’

The man stopped and a big brick fell right in front of him. The man was astonished. He went on, and after a while he was going to cross the road. Once again the voice shouted, ‘Stop ! Stand still ! If you take one more step a car will run over you, and you will die.’

The man did as he was instructed, just as a car came careening around the corner, barely missing him. The man asked. ‘Who are you?’

‘I am your guardian angel,’ the voice answered.

‘Oh, yeah?’ the man said ‘And where the hell were you when I got married?’

uski yado se chalti hai sansein meri
wo dil me hai aur dil se juda bhi hai

Maut bhi has ke kabool hai aadin gar
